Gladwags Dog Grooming

Gladwags Dog GroomingMy name is Sarah Firth and I run, own and manage Gladwags Dog Grooming. I have been around animals and dogs all my life and have a vast experience and knowledge of all dogs.

From the age of 12 I volunteered at a Clumber spaniel show Kennel, where I spent all my free time showing, grooming and caring for the dogs, I attended Crufts each year and many local championship dog shows where I helped to groom a massive range of dog breeds to show standard.

I studied Animal Sciences at college then when I left I went on to study veterinary nursing which I did for 10 years, in a mixed practice dealing with livestock, horses and domestic pets.

I also have an NCFE qualification in Dog Grooming, a Lantra certificate in Canine & Equine Faecal Parasite Identification, and a Diploma in Animal Psychology.

TESTIMONIALS

Heather Coulson: I couldn't recommend highly enough the great job done! My little girl had a bad experience with another groomer and was so scared, she was welcomed, loved and transformed, an amazing talented lady with an honest love for her job, thank you.

Amanda Higham: We have a beautiful but very nervous little rescue girl & our groomer couldn't get near her face to trim her eyes. I posted on a local group desperately looking for a groomer who had the experience & knowledge to help her. Sarah reached out and, Oh my godness, we are so thankful that she did. First visit she successfully removed the hair from her face and more importantly her eyes. I was genuinely emotional when I first saw her after the groom as it was becoming a welfare issue for Delilah as she couldn't see. I simply cannot recommend her enough, Thank You Sarah.

Emma Jane: I really don't know what we'd do without Sarah. Probably have a ragamuffin of a shepherd. Luna is a typical gobby and occasionally spicy, long-haired GSD. I was expecting that she'd need muzzling but from her first groom, Luna's had no issues with Sarah whatsoever. Sarah is so confident in handling her and really knows her stuff. She always does a terrific job and never complains when I bring Luna in when she's more mud than dog. There's no one else I would trust, she's worth her weight in gold! Thanks Sarah!

Olivia Barker: Our dog Marlo is a rescue and we have never been able to get him groomed, we've had to do it ourselves. I came across Sarah's website after doing some research and saw that she deals with difficult dogs, after a discussion on the phone we booked Marlo in for his first groom and we were blown away, he was no trouble and came out looking so handsome! Sarah is a dog whisperer and very talented!

Michelle Summers: I take my nervous little dog Lola to Sarah for grooming and over the past year of visiting Gladwags, Lola has become more and more comfortable with being groomed - all thanks to Sarah's patience and loving manner, we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Karen Clarke: Today (17th April 2025) was our first meeting with Sarah, all I can say is she AMAZING, she must be a dog whisperer, a miracle worker. After months and months of searching for a groomer and having to have our cockapoo sedated at the vets previously, Sarah worked her magic and managed to groom him first time. We can't thank you enough. Definitely recommend Gladwags to anyone that has a problem dog.

Doreen Soles: Sarah did a fantastic first cut on Reggie today. Her love of dogs is so obvious & her planning & thoughtfulness in dealing with a puppy's first experience of a groomer are second to none. I would highly recommend her & we're looking forward to his next visit.

Yvonne Sidwell: We took our puppy to Gladwags for her first clipping. He's a Lagotto Romagnolo and a rare breed. Sarah took the time to get to know him and she was familiar with the breed. We discussed the coat style and them left him with her. All I can say is WOW he looked fantastic!!! Perfect job by a lovely lady. Our dog was totally relaxed with her.

Elisha Woolf: 110% recommend. Excellent service and Sarah does a wonderful job with our Jake the border terrier. She goes the extra mile and I couldn't be happier each time I go to pick him up. Thank you.
