Parasite control is essential for keeping your dog healthy, but are you using the best approach?
At Gladwags, we offer in-house faecal parasite analysis using the ovitube technique, the latest and most accurate method of faecal egg counting for animals, that gives you accurate results you can trust, without relying on guesswork or unnecessary medication.
Fresh Samples = Accurate Results
One of the biggest challenges with faecal testing is timing. A stool sample, unless it is refrigerated, begins to deteriorate quickly after it's passed, and within just two hours, changes can begin that affect the accuracy of test results. Parasite eggs and larvae can degrade, making them harder-or even impossible-to detect under the microscope.
That's why Gladwags doesn't use postal services. While mail-in kits are convenient, the lack of refrigeration and postal delays can easily compromise the sample. Instead, our in-house testing ensures samples are analysed quickly and correctly, giving you reliable insights into your dogs overall health.
Treat Smart - Not Blindly
Many owners routinely give their dogs worming treatments 'just in case', but this shot-in-the-dark approach may not always be necessary, and it could even contribute to resistance over time.
By checking a stool sample first, you can find out if any parasites are present. That means targeted treatment only when it's needed, helping you avoid overmedication and better support your dogs long-term well-being.
Expertise You Can Trust
All faecal analyses at Gladwags are carried out personally by Sarah, who is fully certified in faecal parasite analysis.
You're not just getting a service - you're getting peace of mind that your test is being done professionally and accurately.
Ready to Book?
Our quick, non-invasive faecal checks are perfect for routine health maintenance or before travelling, joining daycare, boarding, breeding, showing, selling or welcoming a new dog.
The test is priced at £5.00 and will analyse for all common parasites commonly found in all livestock, dogs and horses *.
We will send either a text message or email, whichever is preferred by yourselves, highlighting which parasites are present and advising on the course of action you will need to take.
We recommend testing routinely every 8 months unless your dog is showing signs of illness, in which case we can test as and when required.
* Please note, we also perform faecal parasite diagnostics for livestock and horses, with discounts available for multiple tests for the same yard / farm. Free collection of samples is also available for farms and livery yards. Check our AgriParasite Diagnostics site for more details.
Get in touch today to schedule your in-house faecal parasite analysis - and take the guesswork out of parasite control.
